What floor renovation and refinishing covers in Kuala Lumpur, what to check before hiring, and how to compare 26 local contractors.
Floor renovation and refinishing covers the work needed to bring a tired or damaged floor back to a usable, presentable state without ripping out the whole structure. In Kuala Lumpur that usually means sanding and resealing timber and parquet, polishing or re-honing marble and terrazzo, regrinding and re-polishing concrete and epoxy floors, replacing cracked or hollow-sounding tiles, and levelling subfloors before new vinyl, laminate, or SPC planks go down. It's a different job from a first-time install: the contractor has to work around existing structures, match old materials to new patches, and often deal with moisture or termite damage that only shows up once the old surface is stripped.
We rank the 26 flooring contractors in this category using consistent criteria: verified reviews, responsiveness, range of floor types serviced, and how clearly they scope and price jobs. One reviewer said an SPC install finished a day early. Several mention fair prices compared with other quotes, though review detail is fairly brief.

Their work spans residential bedrooms and stairs to commercial spaces like NIOSH Bangi, with praise for careful attention to detail and timely handover. No complaints appear in the review set, though the evidence is limited to positive submissions.

Strong work quality and warm staff interactions draw steady praise, but two recent complaints centre on no-show appointments and communication breakdowns. Noel and Amir stand out for patient product education and willingness to demo floor textures in-store; installation teams earn credit for speed and finishing touches. Pricing feels fair to reviewers. The conflict: some salesmen lack product knowledge, and newer items sometimes lack documentation or stock on hand.
Customers who write reviews describe quick replies and fast visits. Technicians often arrive the same day, and quotes come before work starts. Reviewers call the work neat and say the staff are polite and easy to deal with. Most of the reviews cover handyman jobs, not flooring. Named staff include Mr Abdul, Nabil, and Ali and Raza. One reviewer praised a flooring replacement in a master bedroom, and others mention ceiling fans, sinks, cabinets, and IKEA assembly. Price is described as reasonable.
Hassan and his team typically arrive fast and finish jobs well, with most reviewers praising reasonable rates and neat workmanship. However, one detailed account describes incomplete electrical work, departure from agreed scope mid-contract, and installation errors including exposed earth wiring. The business excels with responsive plumbing and electrical repair calls but shows vulnerability with complex multi-day projects.
Marvelous Interior Concept delivers rapid turnarounds and polished installation work across flooring types. Most customers highlight Joe's team for professionalism, upfront costs, and materials that arrive ahead of schedule. One older complaint flagged premature wear, though the weight of recent feedback emphasises consistency in workmanship and customer relationships.
Both reviews praise speed and cost. One customer calls the team honest and skilled; another notes they return repeatedly for the welcoming service. Evidence is thin (two reviews), but sentiment is consistently strong.
Reviewers consistently praise the quality of materials and installation finish, with clients noting the aesthetic lift to their spaces. The business trades on three decades of industry experience and attentive after-sales service, though detailed review evidence is sparse.
Most recent customers praise RV Woods for polished installation, solid timber quality, and attentive staff like Bridgette. A recent complaint about floor lifting and refusal to fix it stands out sharply against the pattern, raising concerns about accountability when problems emerge.
The team delivers polished, mirror-bright marble with meticulous site protection-workers tape furniture and door gaps to keep dust at bay. Reviewers praise quick turnaround and fair pricing, though a minority noted some floor edges didn't achieve full mirror sheen.
Both reviewers praised fair pricing and excellent workmanship, though the review base is small and dated (5 years old).
All ten reviews are five-star, highlighting consistent excellence in custom woodwork and refurbishment. The owner earns particular praise for professionalism, fair rates, and willingness to tackle challenging jobs others have refused, including pro-bono work for educational causes.
Most recent work has been solid, with timely delivery and satisfied customers. Some older reviews flag quality concerns, though the wider pattern suggests improvement over time.
Staff like En Naem and Fauzi guide customers through selection and deliver quick, neat installations with friendly service. Stock gaps and pricing warrant comparison shopping.
Five reviewers all give five stars and praise marble restoration work. Two named people appear in the reviews: a father and son team, with "Jun" and "Richard" mentioned. Review detail is limited to six reviews.
Most visits result in reasonable pricing and quick service, particularly with staff member Vik. One recent customer reported uneven edges and jagged door cuts when requesting no skirtings, though the business has older reviews praising installation and material quality.
